Discoloration can have various underlying causes, including sunspots, freckles, age spots, liver spots, and hyperpigmentation in areas like elbows or intimate areas. Modern lasers are highly effective in addressing hyperpigmentation issues.

In this course, you will be introduced to the main laser devices used for this purpose, including fractional lasers (preferably operating from a typical CO2 source, such as erbium-yag ER: YAG) and Q-Switch ND: YAG/KTP. We will explore their modes of action and how to select the best device for a specific skin problem.

You will learn how to recognize different types of discoloration and determine the most effective laser treatment, or how to combine laser therapy with chemical brightening. We will also delve into a holistic approach to addressing discoloration, as many of these issues stem from underlying health problems or improper skin care practices.

We will cover post-operative recommendations to prevent discoloration and discuss various contraindications and other aspects of the treatment process.
